Civil liberties!

In my personal opinion, the people of the United States should not be forced to give up civil liberties in a time of war. The United states was created for freedom of its citizens, and if the government was to take away those liberties from the citizens, the country will be right back to where it started. The government should not have to enforce loyalty because the people of there own country should be loyal too it. Loyalty is a factor of respect on ones part, so if a person does not show respect for there country, there not showing respect to people within the country.

Spain To Blame!

Two days ago off the coast of Havana Cuba, the country of Spain has made a deliberate act of terrorism on the people of the United States of America. The battleship the U.S.S Maine was bombed and eventually sank in to the Caribbean sea, ultimatly killing 250 innocent American navy men. This on the United States governments mind was the last straw; it is time to go to war and show Spain that the trouble and problems they have caused in an attempt to break a nation apart will hurt them. Gary Tripp, a young man that was set to return home to get married in two weeks was on of the 250 casulties of the Maine, and he will now not be able to feel the excitement of his wedding day. Spain has caused problems with those 250's family, friends, and the rest of the United States just because they saw an opportunity  to get an upper hand on the innocent United States. President Mckinley responds by a quote in the New York Times "They [Spain] are done for, and they can safely say that they wont know what hit them"
