The great depressions effects on thinking of those effected
The depression was a time period in American society that destoried the psychological being of all of those who had to suffer. Families were forced to live closer together in more confined spaces, which took away there feeling of privacy and pride as people saw there weak side. Men suffered greatly from this despression; all of the "pride" that they have built up crashed to the ground as the money supply depleted and all the incentives they earned themselves has vanished before there eyes. All of this added stress led to problems with friendships, relationships, and marriages that made bad situations even worse than they once were. The depression ultimately changed the goals and expectations of every day citizens because people believed this was how life was going to be forever, and there is nothing they could have done to change it.

THEE SIMPSONNNNNSS!!
In my personal opinion, I believe that the producers did a pretty accurate job in depicting prohibition, with some add-ons to make it more comical for the people watching the episode. The use of the in house bath tub tonics, the sneaky ways that the smugglers got the alcohol to their consumers (although not really bowling balls) was very accurate. Also, the idea of bringing in someone to take care of the bootlegging (real life FBI) made it very accurate. I personally did enjoy this simpsons episode because it relates to class well, but gives us a new way to learn about a specific topic.
If i was to edit a scene in this episode, it would be the way that prohibition led to be, because I believe seeing one drunk teenager wouldnt of triggered prohibition. instead of portraying bart drunk, they should of had Homer drunk harming a child or doing a destructive act, which was a main reason to why the government really put prohibition into effect in the 1920s
